37: How to Integrate Somatic and Parts Work - Part 2: Mind-Body Dialog Questions

“..the first step is to kind of witness your body and where you’re aware of these physiological shifts. And then the second phase is really the narrative you develop about those physiological responses. If you see it through a polyvagal lens, you see the reactions as trying to protect you..”
Show Notes:
Welcome back as we continue with part two of our series on integrating somatic and parts work. If you missed part one, go check it out in Episode 36 and then come back. In this episode, we ask the question – What are the specific mind-body dialogue questions that help us connect to a part of us associated with a body sensation? To help us answer this question, I have invited three special people to share their specific mind-body dialogue questions that have helped them connect to themselves as they notice body sensations.

I found it very interesting that the wording in questions has to be gentle & age specific to the age that is associated with the part that held the event – makes sense. I did inner child work back in 2013 & was fine with my inner self with questions until a certain point & then no response, no reply? Perhaps I wasn’t gentle enough. & thanks Dr. Aimee for saying this is not multiple personality too. lolol Because even with inner child – gotta be age specific & maybe mine is real young as trauma started at a very young age. Thanks for the email & including me in this.
